SWISSTECH

SWISSTECH is the most important trade fair in Switzerland for the MEM (Mechanics, Electrical and Metallurgy) industry, able to attract visitors also from neighbouring Germany and France.

The location of the fair is the Messe Basel in Basel, a few kilometres from the border with the two European countries.

SWISSTECH takes place together with PRODEX, the Swiss trade fair for machine tools, handtools and production measurement technology.

The previous edition of SWISSTECH (held in 2016) attracted over 21,000 visitors and hosted 440 exhibitors, representing European excellence in the MEM sector.

With over 300 thousand employees, the mechanical, electrical engineering and metallurgical industry (MEM) in Switzerland is the largest industrial sector in terms of number of jobs.

At the international level, this sector is very competitive thanks to high levels of quality, precision, safety and reliability, which balance the commercial disadvantage of the Swiss Franc.

The basis for the success of the MEM sector is the continuous investment in Innovation: companies usually dedicate a significant part of their turnover to research and development to maintain products, technologies and processes at the state of the art.
